The name that confuses first-time buyers

If you're comparing reviews or forum threads from before 2026, you'll often see the word "Standard" used for the entry-level Model 3 or Model Y. Since February 2026, Tesla has dropped that word from its French configurator: the entry version is now called Propulsion, and the mid-tier Long Range Propulsion (Rouleur Électrique). The change is cosmetic — price and specs didn't move, only the displayed name did.

What the old "Standard" trim actually sacrifices

On the Model 3 (now "Propulsion"), at 36 990 € and a 534 km WLTP range, several things separate this version from pricier trims (mondial.paris):

• Cloth seats instead of leather, with no seat ventilation.
• A simpler sound system (fewer speakers than the higher trims).

What this trim trades away is comfort — not the factory warranty, not Supercharger network access, not safety, all of which stay identical no matter which trim you order.

The point most comparisons miss: the referral doesn't change

What about the bonus écologique?

This is where trim genuinely matters on the Model Y: the bonus écologique requires a price under €47 000 and a weight under 2400 kg. A Model Y in Propulsion or Long Range RWD (Berlin-built) stays under that cap and can be eligible; Performance, AWD, or 7-seat versions often exceed €47 000 and lose eligibility.
