Tesla launched the Model Y L, a 6-seat, longer-wheelbase variant, in the US on 2 July 2026. Here's the state of its French availability and what it means for the referral.

What just launched: the Model Y L

On 2 July 2026, Tesla launched the Model Y L in the US and Puerto Rico (Electrek): a 6-seat variant in a 2+2+2 layout, roughly 180 mm longer than the standard Model Y, with a claimed range of about 325 miles (US EPA cycle). The launch trim ("Launch Series") is priced at $61,990.

Is it sold in France?

As of publication, we found no official Tesla announcement of a European or French rollout for the Model Y L: the 2 July launch is US-market only. Unconfirmed for France — we'll update this page the day Tesla opens French orders, exactly as we do for every program change.

Where does the referral fit in?

The French referral today covers the "standard" Model Y (RWD / Long Range RWD) built in Berlin: 1000 km or €250. If Tesla ever opens French orders for the Model Y L, two unknowns remain to verify before promising anything: the production site (the current eligibility condition for the eco bonus) and whether this new body style is actually folded into the French referral program. We're not guessing either.

The full US price range, for context only — not a France reference

Useful for understanding where the model sits, the full 2026 Model Y US range, all-in with $1,640 in fees, runs from the Standard RWD at $41,630 up to the Model Y L at $63,630 (Cars.com). These dollar figures, before VAT and the French bonus écologique, don't translate directly into a France price.
