Tesla charging costs in France: what actually changed in 2026 (and what didn't)

The Supercharger rate itself hasn't officially changed, but the Model 3 discount, the conversion bonus, and the FSD subscription reshaped the real 2026 total.

What hasn't, as far as we can tell, changed: the Supercharger rate itself

As of this page's verification date, we've found no announcement of a rate-structure change for Superchargers in France: price still varies by station and time slot, visible live only in the app. Our working assumption of €0.42/kWh, set out in our page on charging costs, remains our reference for reasoning in euros — verify it yourself before every charge.

What actually changed this year — and moves your total budget

Nothing moved on the per-kWh rate, but three real 2026 changes shift the total you can expect to save around a Tesla order in France.

DateChangeEffect on your budget
1 January 2026Model 3 maker's discount (€3100) endedThe base price of a new Model 3 rises by that amount, unrelated to charging.
1 January 2026Conversion bonus (prime à la conversion) endedAn aid that lowered the entry cost is gone; the overall budget you need to plan for is higher.
22 May 2026FSD subscription launched at €99/month (€49/month with Enhanced Autopilot)A new monthly cost if you turn it on — separate from charging, but drawing on the same monthly budget.

None of these three changes touch the price per kWh at the plug. They do change the total amount you're spending around buying and running the car — which is why we're flagging them here, rather than letting you assume "nothing changed" this year. What else hasn't changed

  • The referral benefit stays 1000 km of Supercharging or €250, an alternative, never combined.
  • The eco-bonus scale stays at €5700 / €4700 / €3500 depending on reference tax income.
  • Type-approved (WLTP) consumption around 15 kWh/100 km remains the starting point for our worked examples — not a road guarantee.

Why this distinction matters

Conflating "the charging rate changed" with "the total budget changed" leads to bad comparisons. If you ran the numbers back in 2025, revisit the car's base price and whether the conversion bonus still exists — not the Supercharger rate, which still follows the same demand-based logic as before.
