The Supercharger rate isn't a fixed price

Unlike a fuel price posted on a sign, a Supercharger rate varies by station and by time slot (demand-based pricing). The exact price shows in the Tesla app right before you plug in — that's the only reliable source, never one national figure.

What actually moves the bill

• The price per kWh, specific to each station and moment.
• The Supercharging membership (a few euros a month), which lowers the per-kWh rate for high-mileage drivers.
• Real-world consumption: Tesla's own type-approved (WLTP) figures, around 15 kWh/100 km depending on the Model 3 / Model Y trim, are a starting point, not a guarantee on a motorway in winter.

A working assumption, not an official rate

To reason in euros in our worked examples (see the worked example), we use a working assumption of €0.42/kWh, in line with Supercharger rates typically observed in France outside a membership, as of this page's verification date. This is not an official Tesla rate: always check the live price in the app before charging — it can be higher or lower depending on the station.

Why this figure matters for the referral

The referral leaves you a choice between 1000 km of Supercharging or €250 off immediately. Converting kilometres into euros requires knowing the real cost of a kilometre of charging — which is exactly what we do, figure by figure, in the dated example.
