The choice you make when ordering

The referral gives you a choice between 1000 km of free Supercharging or €250 off. Many people pick the kilometres by reflex — “free” always sounds bigger than “€250”. Here's the maths, using the rate assumption set out in our page on charging costs.

Step 1: how many kWh in 1,000 km?

With type-approved consumption of around 15 kWh/100 km (Model 3 / Model Y RWD, per Tesla's own figures), 1,000 km works out to roughly 150 kWh.
